Solar Energy

As the State of California moves toward greener living, it has implemented regulations that provide all residential property owners the ability to install solar energy systems.  In order for California community associations to maintain control over their common areas, protect roofing, preserve community aesthetics, and reduce liability while complying with governmental regulations, associations must incorporate restrictions and guidelines that address solar installations.  Considerations must be made for roof size, building impact, insurance requirements, and aesthetics, while providing reasonable restrictions that do not prohibit the installation of solar energy systems.  SwedelsonGottlieb works with California community associations to draft restrictions and architectural guidelines for solar panel and energy system installation.
